Well it’s a Dummy iPhone pure and simple. No workings, no batteries, no screen, in essence a display piece and all for just short of twenty dollars. But why?
A quick read through their web site at iphonedummy.net and you will start to see the appeal, with practical jokes a plenty, like dropping your phone in your mates pint, publicly throw it on the floor and stamping on it in a fitted frenzy, or my favourite. Superglue it to the pavement in a busy high street and sit back and enjoy the show!

I suppose if you really wanted, you could of course buy one to pretend you actually own an iPhone because you’re cheap but where’s the fun in that!
I think this only works because of the massive appeal of the real iPhone. If this was a Motorola it probably wouldn’t work.
WARNING: These things look real, so if someone offers you a cheap iPhone in the market but can’t show you it working? Leave it! …or at least offer him 20 bucks for a laugh!
