Now the dust has settled and we have all had a chance to live with the iPhone 3G S for a few days I’m getting the nagging feeling that battery life is not as good as Apple suggest.

Indeed worse than that, I’m finding that if anything, battery life is actually worse!

I don’t have any hard figures as yet but the perception is that I’m seeing the low battery alert more often than I’d expect.  This could be as a result of the new device needing a few charge/discharge cycles before it achieves its full capacity.  Or it could be because I’m using my 3G S more.

But I was a pretty heavy user of the 3G and I would expect a new device to perform much better than a year old one that had been through hundreds of charge/discharge cycles.

I’m going to run both side by side over the next few days and subject them to the same usage patterns.  This should reveal the truth.
